Start of a vegas half sleeve...

being from vegas (well actually henderson) you get a lot of people wanting tattoos that represent their hometown, because lets face it, nowhere in the world is like vegas. Good or Bad it is still home and if you were raised here you get used to some things that others have never even dreamed of or only seen on a movie screen. the biggest of those is gambling, and instead of doing the usual slot machines, vegas sign, and strip sleeves that are usually spotted around town i wanted to try something a little different, so i drew up this piece and there it hung on my wall, until my buddy brian stopped in on leave from the military and wanted to start up a vegas half sleeve, i talked him into the peice and all in all im really stoked on how its coming along, we did about a 4 1/2 hours sitting, probably take one more to get all the background and little details done, but its a nice start. oh and the poker chip was done before he left back to boot camp when i was still fresh out of my apprenticeship, def making progress.

slacking... time for some fresh work.

so i have been slacking really badly on updating the blog lately, and i apologize to the maybe 4 of you that view it haha. i tattooed connie recently, i had tattooed her before, i fixed that big hacked up rose half sleeve she had. we did a nice little side profile of a gypsy head/ day of the dead girl thing, i used an old piece of sailor jerry flash which i changed up and added some things to it to make it work nicer. i really enjoyed this one.

today was an eventful day, i started on my friend patrick's arm, which was a train wreck, bad lines blotchy shading, and jesus with a french mustache! NOT ON MY FUCKING WATCH, so we sat him down for his first 4 hour session and we made some progress, keep in mind i would never tattoo a jesus in this style, cause quiet frankly it looks stupid, short chewed up looking finger nails, arthritis hands, and a tribal thorn band around his head, but i worked with what i had and we both agree jesus is looking good, especially with his new classy mustache, and yes i know jesus didnt have a stache per say but i have to work with what i have. also whats awesome about this tattoo is that the person who tattooed it said id never be a tattoo artist, well heres a great big FUCK YOU! feeling good!

Beautiful Saturday!

the girlfriend and I went out on saturday to do some thrift store shopping in search of items for our place and to take my lovely mother out to a nice mexican dinner at don jauns. while waiting for my parents who showed up late to their own dinner, i decided to shred a little bit on my new pool board i bought the other day, and my lovely gf snapped a few shots of me shredding the gnar haha, ive definitely aged a bit cause i was pretty winded after about 15 minutes of skating around, time to get back into shape and skate a lot more!

Miguels mother in law and brother in law stopped by the shop on friday, and i drew jay (miguels brother in law) up this little treasure chest and banner on his last visit for his birthday, but after getting his chest worked on for a few hours he was not in the mood to get one, so when he returned on this visit we surprised him by throwing him in the chair and tattooing him, he was pretty excited and i was too cause i had lots of freedom on this one, and i like the way it came out, but he was a bit of a bleeder so ill def be getting some healed shots soon to show the colors better. fun piece regradless.

Popularity rising?

so today while facebooking as i usually do, i noticed a friend of mine had added someone and that little notification popped up and i saw his profile picture, and thought to myself that looks oddly familiar, not sure if it is a coincidence or if im getting popular, probably more coincidence than anything, but regardless i though it was cool, i painted a wold head in probably september or august of last year that looks very similar to this one, i think this guy has good taste. mine is the one with the girl head his is the one with the just the wolf head. artist name is tim kelly.
